# Register a party

> Form a new political group and run for office.

Follow these steps to register a party and put it on the ballot. You need a verified account, and the only required detail is a name.

## Prerequisites

* A World Republic account, signed in
* Verification — the same one-time face check that voting needs, which also confirms you are 18 or older. If you have not done it, [get verified](https://docs.worldrepublic.org/quickstart/get-verified.md) first.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Parties registered before verification was required keep their listing, their [subsidies](https://docs.worldrepublic.org/building-blocks/party-subsidies.md) and their edit rights.

## Steps

**1. Open the Parties tab**

Open [worldrepublic.org](https://worldrepublic.org) and switch to the **Parties** tab — worldrepublic.org/parties goes straight there. Tap **+** in the top bar (**Register a party**).

Signed out, you are asked to sign in first — **Continue with passkey** or **Continue with Google**. Not verified yet, the sheet says that only verified citizens can register a party and offers **Verify your account**. Once the scan passes, tap **Continue** and the form opens.

**2. Fill in the details**

**Party name** *required*

The name citizens see on the ballot and in the parties list. You can change it later.

**Description**

Optional. A few lines on what your party stands for.

**Website**

Optional. Your party's website or social media page. A bare domain is fine — `https://` is added for you if you leave it off.

**3. Register**

Tap **Register party**.

## Outcome

> [!TIP]
>
> **Success!** You are a party leader, and your party appears under **Your party** at the top of the **Parties** tab. It joins the parties list voters see by default once an automated review clears it — until then your party's card reads **In review**, and a voter who turns off **Hide spam** can already find it and vote for it.

## Troubleshooting

> **You are asked to verify after filling in the form**
>
> If registration is refused because your account is not verified, the form says so and offers **Verify your account**. Complete the scan and register again — what you typed is kept.

> **You already lead a party**
>
> An account leads one party at a time. Tapping **+** then opens on **You lead** your party's name, with what registering a new one means: your current party retires, its page and election record stay public, rewards you have already earned stay yours, and the new party starts with a fresh record. Choose **Edit your party instead** to keep it, or **Register a new party** to go on.

> **Editing or deleting your party**
>
> Open your party's page and tap the pencil in the top bar (**Edit your party**) — it appears only on the party you lead. **Remove party** is inside it. Removing cannot be undone.
